Event Details

This event is an opportunity for delegates to discuss the key priorities for reforming the Scottish Government’s youth justice system.

Reforming youth justice

Concerns over Scotland’s youth justice system became apparent last year following the tragic deaths of several young people in custody.

The Scottish Government responded by launching a review of mental health services for young people in custody, whilst a wider independent enquiry, Kilbrandon Again, commissioned by the Children Young People’s Commissioner Scotland and Action for Children published its findings in November 2018.

Join Holyrood on 23 April to hear the latest thinking on both these reviews and exchange ideas with fellow stakeholders on the way forward for Scotland’s youth justice system.

  • Latest thinking on the Scottish Government’s review of mental health services
  • Next steps for taking forward the Kilbrandon Now report
  • Policy priorities for improving multi-agency working
