The Scottish Government has committed to make restorative justice widely available across Scotland by 2023 and has published an action plan to support this. At present, the availability of restorative justice in Scotland is still relatively limited and variable across the country. This workshop is intended to support professionals in criminal justice social work and community justice to design, plan and implement restorative justice services across Scotland.
Contributors have extensive local and international expertise regarding the design and implementation of restorative justice.
The morning session focuses on the possibilities for the design and implementation of restorative justice, international evidence on effectively implementing restorative justice, and exploring the potentials and challenges for implementing restorative justice in Scotland.
The afternoon session will be highly interactive, drawing on design thinking and restorative practices to help participants work through the design of restorative justice services.
Your participation in the workshop will also contribute to the development of a ‘toolkit’ to help you design and implement restorative justice services in your area.
The event is free. Lunch, tea/coffee and other refreshments will be provided.
We expect high demand for the event and there are limited places to please register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Please note that the venue is not fully accessible – there is step access into the building. If you may require any assistance with accessing the venue, please email the event organiser.
