Violence Against Women Partnerships – 16 Days of Action
The 16 days campaign is an international campaign to raise awareness and speak about all forms of violence against women and girls.
The campaign runs every year from 25th November, UN International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women, to 10th December, Human Rights Day, to highlight the link between violence against woman and human rights.
Today, and every day, women and girls across the world are subjected to many forms of human rights violations solely on the basis of their gender.
White Ribbon Scotland is a campaign to involve men in tackling violence against women. It is a joint initiative by a coalition of organisations, individuals and groups of men around Scotland. White Ribbon Scotland contributes to ending violence against women by engaging men and boys in taking action on the issue. This is done by raising awareness, promotion discussion and providing information and resources to support personnel and collective action among men.
Community Justice Ayrshire will be working with various partners across the area to help support and promote the events over the coming weeks.
The countdown is on until the event commences.
A Calendar of Events across Ayrshire can be viewed here.
Each Partner involved will be utilising Social Media across the 16 days to publicise and raise awareness of the campaign and events.
